Georgia O'Keeffe Flowers
As part of the curriculum, 4th grade students learn about the artist Georgia O'keeffe. For this lesson, we discussed different kinds of perspective: worm's eye (from below), bug's eye (up close and detailed), and bird's eye view (from above). Students used bug's eye view to inspect the silk flowers before them. Students were encouraged to incorporate many colors into their flower and to enlarge it to fill the page. Surprisingly, the boys even enjoyed this project!
