Kandinsky Fall Trees
This project was completed at a special needs school for the severely handicapped. In the beginning of the year, they learned about the different shapes. After learning about the circle, the students learned about an artist that loved using circles in his own work: Wassily Kandinksy. The students traced and cut circles (with assistance) using fall colors and glued the large circles onto the pre-cut tree. Next they added the medium sized circles and then the small, creating concentric circles. After the project was completed, there were many circles left over so we glued more together and added them to a painted tree in our hallway during the fall season.
